Infant not gaining weight
My twin babies born premature 35.5 weeks. At present they are 15months. Twin 1 was 1.seven kgs at nascence. Now he is 7.7 kgs. Twin 2 was 2.2kgs at nascence and now he is 12kgs. I'one thousand concerned about the weight of my twin 1. He doesn't take food properly. He hardly eats and drinkable milk. Is it normal to weigh just 7.7 kgs for 15 months old baby? How should i increase his weight? Please help.

No the weight of twin i is very low ,one need to evaluate in item , causes of not gaining weight similar infections ,metabolic problems etc .please visit a pediatrician or u may video consult .

Hello. As they are premature, corrected age should be taken into account. Also we generally say, by 1 year they should triple the birth weight. Going past this, I think this is fine and your child will grab up presently. Regarding nutrition, talk to a Pediatrician and get a good diet chart and plan meals accordingly. Also your Pediatrician would be plotting your kid'southward weight in a growth nautical chart and that volition help you empathise your child's growth better.

It is not normal weight for twin I. You can give frequent small-scale feeds rich in protein. Include egg , milk, soya beans, Vegetables, fruit juices, . Baby should catch up weight.

Undoubtedly your petty one who weighs 7.seven has not defenseless up on weight . How are his other parameters , activity & development milestones .did you bank check his Hb etc ? Anyway it will be best to give him food rather than milk . You should give home made food like halua khichdi dalia etc with extra fat in them . Also if specific deficiencies are there they accept to be supplemented like atomic number 26 it D . Practise expose his bare trunk to sun for Vit D . Keep him under continuous monitoring by pediatrician Even it tin exist washed on video consults . Don't worry he volition catch upwardly .

Your babies are preterms .It will take them time to gain weight. Probably accept them 4 years to grow well .All preterms demand that time.

1)I volition say baby 1 weight is normal for this age and history of prematurity and low nativity weight. 2)Secondly, I will say baby 2 has gained more than sufficient. iii)Broadly, child should double his birth Wt by 6 months (roughly), triple by a yr, quadruple by ii yrs of age. 4) If baby 1 is playful, abroad from any serious health problem, cardiac problems, and then I don't run across any reason of worry. 5)Nonetheless we can plot growth on IAP growth nautical chart for prematures.
